Choupana Hills is a luxurious Resort and Spa nestled on the verdant hillside of Funchal. The development of this project has been inspired by the French architect Michel de Camaret co-jointly with architect/decorator Didier Lefort who designed and decorated the famous Meridien Bora Bora and The Datai in Malaysia. The main features of the buildings are wood and stone, comprised of 34 bungalow-style units built on pillars. Some African and Asian influences can be noticed in the unique decoration of this boutique hotel as well as in other antique pieces sourced from various Portuguese discoveries.

The 60 Deluxe rooms and 4 Suites have spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the bay of Funchal and are surrounded by lush tropical gardens. In the two main buildings you will find facilities such as the reception, restaurant, bars, spa, lounge, library and conference facilities.

The spacious guest rooms, Deluxe rooms (40m 2) and Suites (50m 2), are decorated in a contemporary style with an exotic touch. All rooms have large verandas - 27 m2 for double rooms and 31 m2 for the suites – with views of the bay of Funchal/Atlantic Ocean or the sub-tropical gardens. Bathroom with separate WC, hair dryer, mini bar, personal safe, television and Internet access. The Suites are also equipped with a heated outdoor Jacuzzi, DVD and Hi-fi system.

The Xôpana Restaurant offers its guests exciting, exotic and innovative 'fusion' cuisine. In the Basalt Bar cocktails, drinks and snacks are served throughout the course of the day. Whilst enjoying your day at the pool or Spa, try our isotonic drinks at our Pool Bar. 'High afternoon tea' is a must and is served in the Lounge.
