Cyclone Diwa in Mauritius

Saturday 04th March 2006 DinaRobin Hotel Golf and Spa, Mauritius
Dear Guest,
We are as every year, preparing to face a formidable natural phenomenon. A trpical depression, or 'Cyclone', is approaching our region and is called "DIWA"

What is this so famous cyclone? A storm of swirling winds around an area of low pressure. In other words a very powerful blend of wind and rain.

Our national warning system indicates the proximity and magnitude of winds which could soon caress our Island, warning class 1 to 4 indicating the proximity of winds of 120 km/h, where class 1 corresponds to an estimation of 36 hours and class 4 an immediate presence.

A cyclone warning class 1 is now in force in Mauritius.

As a privilege witness of this annual whim of Gods Nature, you will be living an uncommon experience and an exciting adventure, where trees will be prostrating under the wind to welcome the miracle, some courageous objects suddenly taking off to a dangerous angel flight. All this under continual rain, awaited sign of blessing.

Our long experience allows us to face the event with confidence and serenity. To help us ensure your security, we will ask you to stay informed at all times of the evolution of the situation:

  1. Through our concierge service
  2. Through informative letters you will receive in your room
  3. Through Local Radio channels
