Cultural Dubai

Men Beladi - meaning 'from my country'. This is a celebration of the rich culture and traditions of the United Arab Emirates. The event is scheduled from 16:00 - 22:00 through 19 - 28 July 2006 at the Bin Sougat Centre shopping mall in Dubai. The event is aimed at giving visitors and younger generations of Dubai nationals an insight into the traditional way of life in the UAE.


During the 10 days of Men Beladi local experts in traditional arts, crafts and cuisine will exhibit their expertise and compete against one another to find the best in their specialist fields. Visitors will be able to watch as Arabic perfumes (Mokhalat), henna designs, regional food (Harees), traditional sweets (Lougaymat) and Arabic coffee (Qahwah) are made, while the whole mall will be transformed to create a traditional atmosphere with live shows and cultural performers.
